I agree that the AXON 7 is hands down no questions asked the best value for money phone available at the 'discount' price it was available from Amazon EU. At the Australian price it probably still is but it's more of a close run thing for mine.

I look forward to finding out exactly why you think so Dean. Is your reference to the polished software that is coming soon I wonder? Sorry bit of a miscommunication there. Of course I'd have to ship it back to them.

For the record the VIP card I received gives me 3 year warranty, 1 x replacement for accidental liquid damage and 1 x screen replacement only in the first 6 months. I see the US Axon 7 had a small update today Many people here are already on Nougat, particularly with the EU versions and have had issues with large MicroSD cards.

Where does this leave Kogan seeing they got the Axon 7 now on sale, too? Unfortunately only in Gold Any warranty would be need to be handled by Kogan directly, as they are selling the imported version.

You don't get a local warranty through Kogan, it will need to be sent back in the mail and take many weeks to sort out, and I doubt you would get the accidental coverage either as they are likely selling the Chinese variant.

So pretty much — apart from maybe the stock rom — identical to the Australian version. While they are unfortunately not specifying it, they claim to sell the international version from Kogan HK. Yeah, while it may very well be the Global version Generally places like Kogan sell the Asian variants, similar to places like Gearbest.

I cannot remember specifically if this is the case with the Axon 7, there was a brief mention from people who purchased from places like Gearbest in one of the previous threads, but cannot remember what the consensus was.

I learnt a long time ago not to trust the copy and pasted websites of grey importers, who have NFI. And again I'm not saying they aren't selling the G version, just that I don't trust Kogan to list anything correctly, nor do I expect anything knowledge by staff, as they simply read from a script.

The reason why so many people here purchased from Amazon Italy and Germany, and not places like Gearbest, was because they could be assured of the G version and Band Kogan have an average reputation for handling warranty claims, but fortunately my last device lg g3 had no issues so I saved a few bob purchasing from them — knowing that any warranty issues would take several weeks to resolve.

I got the gold axon 7 only colour available initially and it actually looks really good in a slim black case — has a corporate style to it — I was afraid it may look like a pimps phone.

But then again, they might get their stock from across the border. Two major problems I'm aware of, but neither really bothers me. Daydream support is flaky. I already had a look on xda as I only want to buy a rootable phone , but still not sure what's the best way to go for the AG and Lineage OS the last time I rooted a phone towelroot was working and that's just dead easy?

What case did you get? Except claiming warranty and accidental coverage, possibly so.. What method did you use? It's a rather convoluted method unfortunately, although their is a tool that has made it easier called AxonToolKit: It only supported the G model from March onwards, but should work fine these days, but be careful to read a few pages of the thread to be aware of any gotchas.

The local accidental coverage mitigates that a tiny bit, but Amazon also honoured that aspect which was nice, but I doubt Kogan would though. I believe it is, but equally seems to be the most common possibly the only cause of bricking the device what I've read.

Sorry, i don't have a link. It is in the catologue delivered to me today. Starts Thursday the 4th of May, according to my catologue. I am in Qld, just incase it makes any difference. Ok cool, so it's not in the current catalogue, but the new one which starts this Thursday, awesome, been waiting for this price to drop, might have to pull the trigger now.

Thanks for the heads up: Well seems there may be an Axon 8 readying for launch. Key thing here if it was the Axon 8 surely they wouldn't use the or also sides are identical to the Axon 7 and 7s something fishy here. I don't know if they really need a new design, just a refresh to keep development costs down.

Definitely not the Axon 8. What is this device? For now, our bet is on a regional Chinese version http: They honoured that as well. Awesome thanks mate will give it a go after work tomorrow once sale starts.

How would I go about it just explain that I got this a week ago and so on? Lots of retailers have a price protection policy. If you mean the OP3T, than it likely has slightly better battery life, and slightly faster SoC, more ram, but still loses on most of the above.

Been reading back a few pages and saw something about update via SD card, should I do that straight away? I just pulled the trigger, If you are after the grey colour just be aware some stores only have the gold one in stock.

Yes, but you may need to get your sim replaced by your Telco if they are different sizes, this is a free service. Will I be able to put the sim card from the Redmi Note 3 in the Axon 7 and the sim card from the old Samsung in the Redmi Note 3 So we can both keep our existing phone numbers?

The only thing to make sure of is the Sim card size So you may need to adjust the size of your current sim from Micro to Nano, which is as simply as pressing out the middle bit as shown here:. Freakbull beat me to the answer on this one.

It's also a good idea to make sure your contacts are additionally synced via Gmail so that, you have contacts on both sim and Gmail More info http: The 3T has "better" software imho, less adulterated, a better launcher, more of a pure Android experience.

The boot time is unbelievably quick. Software updates are constant and quick I'm on 7. No SD card slot but I got the gb model so who cares. Better battery life, and Dash charge has to be seen to be believed, but you need the OEM chargers.

No mhz but this phone is on Voda. The Axon has better speakers for sure, but the default launcher is crappy and it doesn't support Android profiles. Software updates are much slower — still on Marshmallow so missing some cool features.

The boot time is much longer and the software is released much more slowly. Battery life seems worse the the 3T, it support fast charge but that's much slower than Dash. Local support is a plus, as is mhz support this phone is on Telstra.

The 3T is much slimmer out of the case, but once you put on a case on you wouldn't know. The 3T is my preference for no other reasons than Android profiles, Nougat, and it freakin screams.

While a side-by-side comparison shows the screen on the Axon is better, in real life you'd never notice, and the 2K screen obviously drags down the battery life. It's a very narrow choice though.

Still on Marshmallow here and not touching a thing until this interminable update palaver is finally sorted. I, too, contemplated the OnePlus 3t but eventually settled on the Axon 7. I think I made the right decision.

JB's dropping the price by a ton just a few weeks after my purchase and the ongoing update saga does, however, leave a bit of a sour taste. I'm about to buy another one of these phones — this one for my mum, and this time from JB hifi due to the price reduction.

To be honest I agree with the software support issues as stated by JG above, but the local warranty is enough to swing the pendulum in ZTE's court. My mum won't use the phone enough for battery life to be an issue and having used the camera in both bright and low-light conditions I am fairly happy.

To be honest I agree with the software support issues as stated by JG above. How big an issue is this? I understand Nougat was released a while ago, butfrom what I've read back, SifuDean ZTE aus have been actively working to make sure it's right before release.

I just bought one last night from JB, haven't had time to turn it on yet, but already impressed with the price, build, accidental coverage, and it's definitely one of the better packaged phones with a few small extras, even the box feels premium.

Not a very big issue for me or I wouldn't be buying a second ZTE. I already own one and I am very happy with it apart from quick charge suddenly stopping working — I've since established it is the charger and not the phone.

No one doubts Sifudean and ZTE AU is working very hard but that doesn't take away from the fact that 2 or 3 months in they still can't release it while from all reports the OP3T for example is flawless from a software perspective.

That's all I am saying. Although it isn't a phone that has been released in Australia so I know it is comparing apples with oranges a little bit. I'm about to say the samebas well. ZTE has been very slow to be coming up with the software update.

It's been more than 2 months since they last estimated Nougat release. At this rate, Android O is gonna make it on the Pixel first. OP3's biggest selling point is it's software, and it's easier to maintain and update quickly when they have a single team working only a single model phone.

For people running custom roms, 7. Australian version has a beta version which can be signed up for if you are keen to use the latest. I do plan to root and custom rom at some stage, but will wait for few months.

I keep an eye on the the XDA thread, and it seems to be working quite well The only major issue I'm currently aware of is some quirkiness with Daydream compatibility compared to stock Nougat. There is 'Magisk' which is an app that can mask root, gets around apps like Foxtel Go or Android Pay for example.

After reregistering my fingerprint, I can no longer login using it. The option does not appear in the settings. I have deleted the CommBank App data, cache, and reinstalled it. Loving the phone so far one major gripe I have is it's very hard to find a descent case for this phone hardly anything around.

I would be quite happy if there was a method to root only and install xposed without unlocking the bootloader. There was a thread on xda regarding root without unlocking, but at least in the thread the AG wasn't supported.

And I have no idea if it would work with the axontoolkit -did you look into this, too? I like the Spigen Rugged case, just enough protection with only a little bulk, kind of wish it had a little bit more grip on the back though.

Yes, I find Google are becoming more and more limiting, and they should be reducing the need for root each release, not increasing it. At the time it was suggested that EU models would allow factory unlock, but this never eventuated.

So for G models it will require bootloader to be unlocked using something like Axon7toolkit unfortunately So I decided to flash official Lineage OS over the weekend after I wasn't really happy with the stock rom. Probably the fastest I've flashed a phone after purchase, 2 days Only issue I've had so far is the camera ain't great Flashed the stock camera apk, and while it is buggy and many features don't work, standard point and shoot photo's and videos turn out much better, which is all I need.

Still nowhere near the Pixel camera, but that's the only short coming I've found with the phone so far. And we have had builds of it for over 3 months, but if emergency call issues are found they are mandatory to be fixed for AU release.

I have kept people updated on here and on FB. Can't help the delays if there are important issues that must be fixed. Would of been quicker to disable SIM2 as it was the centre of the E calling issues, but then you would go on about that.

Keep an eye out for the official announcement. Thanks for the update Sifu, I believe the majority of the Axon 7 users on WP appreciate your involvement here, myself included. I just received news from ZTE Australia saying there will be an announcement in the next couple of days: Just bought this yesterday.

Waiting to open it today and get everything set up! Will be a big jump for my almost 4 year old S4. I saw they updated the firmware support page: How ever I just used the AU site a few day ago to update my phone to B11 but the new Nougat firmware desc start with this:.

Well I've successfully updated to Nougat by installing the B11 update followed by the B04 update from the link posted by adrak. You should be on B10 to start with as in Australia we didn't release B11 or any other additional versions If you still have B06 or B08 firmware do the B10 update and then you will be able to do the Nougat update.

If you have any other firmware — get to B10 as that is the requirement officially for being able to update to Nougat. I will be updating the local AU website today I hope — very busy updating a bunch of AXON7 stock right now and it will have the same information and links etc.

Just check for update in settings. Now updated to B04 Nougat and also did a factory reset. Nougat running fantastic so far. How ever I had to uninstall the Play Store updates and Google Play updates then the phone auto updated them and Daydream worked fine, the Assistant didn't showed up first I had to restart the phone again but then it was that too.

I got the B11 from the AU main site http: I just upgraded to Nougat following the instructions, now my fingerprint scanner wont work and it's asking for a PIN, but my PIN number isn't working, I'm locked out! I installed what I thought was B10 on the new phone I bought for my mum but it is showing up as B So what are the differences between AGV1.

Do not modify the file name and extension name of the files in the upgrade package. AS I have been doing SD card updates for longer then the HQ instructions be assured that you can label the files anything in reason as long as they are a zip file.

The System update app checks the file contents for information and not the file name. We know it as two different labels so that doesn't matter. As I have just upgraded a whole bunch of devices using the same files and sd card method I know it works.

If you have issues we will need to know what issues and what hardware that you have tried the update on. We are releasing this firmware for Australian released devices but as some of you know our hardware is now shared between a number of markets.

But those other markets will also be getting their own links and updates. As for any of you that have an issue — contact us on Facebook ZTE Australia via private message and tell us all about your issue and the device.

Including anything you had installed like launchers etc. And please be truthful on the source of your device. If not AU tell us from where you purchased it. No — We aren't releasing FOTA update for B08 to B10 as the very tiny potential for a bricked device is in both version and this was fixed in B11 and onwards.

Found you — Message us on Facebook and include all the details on the device as I have asked and whee you are located. We should be able to work it out. Not one device has ever been "locked" out that I know of in Australia And I have 4 fingers recorded in my sample and reflash via SDcard very often, even more so then any of the others But we have our own links now and they are all updated on our local site too.

Message us on Facebook and include all the details on the device as I have asked and whee you are located. All good, I did a factory reset and it's now working again. I can PM you with more info if you wish.

And for those of you playing with Daydream, let us know what you think! I finally got around to firing it up just this week and I'm super excited for the potential. I'm not new to VR having played with Vive, and am a cardboard user for like for a year..

I like the eco-system, for lack of a better term. I'm using a proper daydream headset, fwiw. My kids think it's the greatest. Btw I'm getting about 20 mins of play before the battery warnings fly up.

I'm hitting about 46C at use. This is common to daydream and not Axon7 specific. Heat issues also affecting Pixel and what I've read, Google is looking into it. I have been trying to download the update following SifuDeans link.

The second time all that would unpack was the pdf. Has anybody else has had trouble downloading the update? Updating the phone has fixed the problem I had with the CommBank App. I guess it needed a "refresh" for the app to detect the phone has a fingerprint reader.

I tried setting the graphics for Heroes of Incredible Tales: HIT to "6", but I still get the message:. At last my SMS system in my car works correctly now with N update! I see names of who sends messages instead of Unknown! With N isn't there meant to be the ability to do actions on an icon?

Similar to the right mouse click. Nova supports it even on Lollipop and Marshmallow, so I imagine you would need the Google launcher or the similar. I know some other features are absent, for example the Blue Filter was only added in the latest US update, so perhaps App Shortcuts are also absent, but I would be surprised.

It looks like I will be staying on MM for awhile longer. I have downloaded the B04 package 3 times now. Each time it says it has completed the download , But when I extract the file it fails. Looks like I have found the problem.

It seems that one of the ports on my USB3 hub is faulty. It is only a USB 2 port though so a bit slower. Also does anyone know how much zte's mifav os sends user info and which info back to their servers for data collection?

I know google does and am trying to go about having control over this new device by using apps that dont need so many permissions and run random processes in the background etc. I'm using a Samsung Gear S3 and it refuses to stay connected for more than 10 minutes or so once the phone is locked.

While I would have preferred to just root my phone, I think I will now flash Lineage as well. However after spending hours on xda I still haven't figured out how to exactly due that as the guide's on xda are either slightly outdated or risky using the signed buggy TWRP version or an old version of the axon7tool The axon7tool doesn't run for me in command line mode, and using the menus without instructions what the single points actually do in detail How do you access this?

I'm running Nova at the moment but would be interested in giving stock a go. Yep super annoying I have a Vivoactive HR. Resetting network settings, re-pairing the device and rebooting the phone helps some but still get the occasional dropout.

Not sure if it's the update or a Nougat thing. I have only had my pebble 2 watch connected by bluetooth so far. It hasn't missed a beat yet, fingers crossed. Bluetooth — for me on Nougat no issues with Bluetooth to car stereo, daydream view headset, wireless speakers, wireless headphones.

All is working as it should. I have a feeling mine is related to the Gear S Plugin service that runs in the background to maintain the link to the phone. The overly aggressive power management on the Axon is killing it minutes after the phone is locked!

Problem is the Gear S Plugin service doesnt appear in the list of apps that you can disable power management for because its not technically an app , so it has rendered my watch completely useless since the upgrade to B04 N.

Dean — any suggestions for resolving this? If nothing can be done, is it possible to downgrade back to B10? Yep but it think it is the power management shutting down the background apps. Pebble and LastPass both impacted.

I've got this issue with St George app after upgrading to Nougat previously working in 6. The app recognises the device has a fingerprint scanner and lets me choose it as an option but when i hit the fingerprint login button it says 'Fingerprint login isn't available'.

It is a shame after the N update the date format is still US. Not sure why you have no regional setting options. A most useful feature for me would be to see my contacts list while on the phone. When I long press the "recent apps" key I am told that the phone app does not support split screen.

The same applies to the contacts app. Are other experiencing the same issue or is there some other way to get the 2 apps on the same screen? I don't have a definitive answer to this, but if you install a no root firewall you'll be prompted when services, com processes or apps try to, "phone home.

I've blocked it, all the same and yes, it tries for outbound connection at phone start. NoRoot firewall at playstore: Google Launcher is now an option in N. But there is no option to apply actions.

I appreciate you must be as busy as all get out at the moment but was wondering whether or not you received my Facebook message. I'm pretty keen to get things moving and need to sort out the stuff you mentioned above.

In my Facebook message if you received it I said I'd prefer any correspondence be conducted via email. That is still my position. I hardly go near FB anymore. Hi Mate, I used this I saw the thread, however none of the functions is properly described, so I'm not exactly sure how to use it.

Hence — sorry for that — lots of questions:. Did you 1 Boot into edl using command line or axon7toolkit 2 Use the toolkit to unlock bootloader or does the toolkit already boot into the right mode automatically?

I at the moment have it just lying around, no card inserted, Wifi, BT, GPS off, only every now and then switch Wifi on and used the browser. Haven't charged for 3 days. But then, that's because all is switched off not the phone as such Is anyone having problems or finding limitations with the Split screen feature of Nougat?

As you have noted. But at least it tells you which I am very happy about. Facebook is the easiest, but I have emailed you — It will be slow as you are not a trusted email source so our systems will be checking the comms. So you will see a couple of the same emails.

They will come through eventually. But in most cases it takes us only a few minutes on Facebook to sort out what the solution is and the steps required. Is it just me or someone else thinks that the charge time has increased since the Nougat update.

I am using the official charger that came with the phone, so not doing anything different here. This works for me, long press the icon. A ton of apps don't support it, try it on google apps maps, gmail etc. I take heart from your qualification "at this stage" re: I always select allow modifications.

I'm very much a noob and have a terrible memory, but happy to help, just don't take my advice as gospel Cheers. If i long press say Gmail, I get the option to choose compose or Icon options. Under Icon optionsI get edit ,remove or app info.

I have recharged my phone for the first time since upgrading to Nougat. That is a lot slower than it used to be on MM. The other problem I have had is that every time I either restart the phone or start the phone it asks me to put my pin number in, even though I am using the fingerprint scanner.

The fingerprint option works everytime after that until I either reboot or start the phone. Using the Aussie nougat build? I don't and Dean has indicated it is not available yet. Are you using google now launcher?

I don't think it will work on miFavor maybe nova though? I updated to B04 yesterday off the site and long press does this to me. Well ,if that is true my phone must have been an exception because it did not do this until I did the upgrade to Nougat.

It has only needed the pin for the last 2 days. I have had mine since he 17th of October and never had to do this pin thing before the fingerprint unlock. If anyone is interested 'think' I've resolved the issue with the power management features killing the Gear S Plugin app.

The setting was buried very deep and I was lucky to stumble across it: This lists ALL applications and services installed on the phone rather than the cut down list in the basic power management section. Here I was able to find the Gear S Plugin and disable the battery optimisation.

Watch been connected without a drop for about 30 minutes now, which is the longest it has been since upgrading to N. Worth having a look in here if anyone else has issues with the aggressive power management in the N update. Honestly I don't know if his is a Nougat thing or if ZTE blocked it previously I went straight to lineage when I bought mine last week But I go through a lot of phones, currently have Axon 7, Pixel XL, HTC 10, all of them after restart have to pin first before key reader works, and this goes for all android phones I've used.

I don't know either , but this is the first fingerprint unlock phone I have had. All I do know is that it only started asking for a pin after the Nougat update. That much I do know. Hopefully SifuDean sees these posts and can shed some light on the answer for us all.

Or anybody else that has done the Nougat update. It means that part of the OS is encrypted and cannot be accessed by apps, until the password is entered. Sounds like a joke to me. It would be more like a two step verification process.

I use fingerprint to access the phone and then I need to put the pin in as well. But I go through a lot of phones, currently have Axon 7, Pixel XL, HTC 10, all of them after restart have to pin first before key reader works, and this goes for all android phones I've used.

Correct I've had a fair few Android phones on mm and nougat and they have all required pin upon boot as did my Axon on mm. I wouldn't call it an issue. Yeah it's slightly inconvenient if you restart your phone a lot but let's face it it isn't a big deal at all.

Now an issue I am having trouble with and could definitely use some help. Im trying to enable voice commands from any screen. I have been trying to turn on OK Google to work on any screen but I keep getting the 'cannot access settings, please try again later error message'.

Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix? It was doing it on MM and still having the same issue since N. Props to the customer service of ZTE Australia, helped me out with an issue recently with some of the quickest and best service I've seen.

To anyone thinking of buying this phone, you won't regret it. Mine was exactly the same. After the Nougat install,I needed the pin number and not before. Soory I can't answer your question. I solved the issue.

I had to go to my account at Google via a browser and turn on a particular privacy setting. It then allowed me to activate google now on all screens via the google app settings on my phone.

I must have had some sort of privacy setting activated that was overriding it. That doesn't seem right, I'm also on Lineage OS, though an earlier version, haven't bothered to update to the latest. Overall I'm very happy with the phone, Screen on battery usage actually seems the best of the 3, I just find it really strange that it's standby performance is so bad, which ends up resulting in the battery being equivalent to my I'm having Bluetooth issues on Lineage which is essential for me so have installed stock B04 Curious if others find the setting 'vibrate on tap' to be a bit, I don't know, strong?

Seems like it does a double vibrate wherever I touch a navigation key, or when putting an unlock pattern in, each node does a double vibrate. Curious if others find the setting 'vibrate on tap' to be a bit, I don't know, strong?

A lot of the time when in an app, and I press the home button, it thinks I've pressed it twice and brings up the "wallpaper, widgets and settings" page. Unsure if this phone error or a Novalauncher issue.

Mine isn't actually double tapping or anything like that It's just when the 'vibrate on tap' function is switched on, each vibrate feels like a double vibrate compared to my Pixel or HTC 10 or even any phone I've used previously.

Going to recheck about the Long press on Google Apps bit to see actions I will get back to you on that Like others, I don't see any compose or icon options — only two choices appear at the top of the screen "Folder or Remove".

Getting a few calls on my phone where no-one can hear me as well since the upgrade. Had to reboot yesterday just to make a call. Hope it is a one off. I have a screenshot of it. I will you a link in a private message because it shows my email address.

I don't want to put it on a public forum. I will send a link when I get on my computer later on. And what launcher are you using? I am using Nova launcher. Unless maybe it is a nova launcher thing.

That I don't know. I've noticed audio level is low when in Daydream. Am I missing something, or? Further, and as an example, I'm using beta-tester purchased VRTV with daydream controller support, etc. I have vol controls within VRTV which are fully functional but level unacceptably low.

I'm trialling half a dozen vr players for movies and not had issues with volume. Have you checked your audio level for audio in music, video game etc. Another three phone calls and the receiver couldn't hear me. Rebooted and all was fine.

Dean what should I do.? Came from JB a few months ago. I expected that the beta program was to hunt down non-obvious problems related to personal uses, software interactions, and varying environmental conditions in exchange for having access to new features.

Is the SIM card capable of storing pictures or documents? How do I install the SIM card? What do I do now?

Interesting cards have sim phones do zte moreand small flash

The ZTE Lever's screen size is 6 inches with x pixels resolution. There is a Quad core 1. The phone runs on the Android 4. Loved it at first Angie67 14 Apr It said invalid Sim card. Straighalk insisted on sending me a new one but before they could get it to me I watched a you tube video on how to fix it myself and it worked.

Only other issue I have had is it calls different contacts in my list randomly Only other issue I have had is it calls different contacts in my list randomly. Sometimes I will not even be in the same room so I know I'm not doing it.

Fast huge screen good sound Welchmotorsports yahoo. Big screen 4g lovin it, better than old phobe Zack B. Wish I would have bought something ekse Danny Hodges 08 Sep I keep getting an error saying my sim card was invalid.

So I called Straight Talk hoping to get it resolved. Needless to say it straight t Needless to say it straight talk is totally useless and of no help. This would be a deal breaker in that regard as I have two young kids and a dog that'd be the focus of most of my shots.

Cell and Wifi reception. Valid issue, small inconvenience: Reception 'looks' worse than my nexus 5, but when I speedtest both there's no difference. The metal case I suspect doesn't help and I reckon the reception is poorer, but it hasn't inconvenienced me yet — just more likely to drop to a 3G instead of hanging onto a weak 4g, where my nexus would hold longer on the 4g.

Fixed with B10, it used to happen to me with Google Play Music, but after updating I haven't had it since. Google play does occasionally pause for no reason, but it used to do that on my nexus too. I've not used a good camera so have nothing to compare it too — perhaps someone else can comment on this?

Lets all be honest, the camera is pretty terrible unless you can take multiple shots to get 1 decent photo. During the day I can't really fault the camera but anything other then daytime light it's pretty rubbish.

B11 appears to be on the FOTA platform for this guy: Held against a window in Singapore at night: It's given me an option to download a B Is this just a European update? Any idea if it'll work if I try it? Waiting for my SD card to arrive so my other option is to wait a couple of days and update to B10 manually.

I checked a couple of days ago no update available. Just checked again after reading your post i also have the B11 update. Have always used the system updates using the handset, havent had any issues with updates.

On beta At least on mine its really laggy. The ZTE locker doesnt work as someone mentioned earlier in the post. Hopefully the official version gets released soon. It updated OTA to B I only installed my SIMs after that After that, it seems to check for updates fine I just prompted it to check for OTA right now and it's downloading B I loaded the official 7.

B11 not available on my JB Hifi phone. B11 not showing on my Amazon Germany phone either: We won't need it here in Australia. I believe it's simply a minor bug fix update, but it has one important function, and that is to allow OTA update to 7.

I do believe this will also rollout to Aus users too to enable the same functionality, but not sure when, Dean will likely confirm at some stage. Is the Nougat update really going to offer anything of substance? From what I've read, about the only thing that gets me anyway excited is that the LED notifications light will be colour calibrated.

Can someone please tell me about other goodies we can look forward to? But the general improvements are listed here. So for the next release we are not committing to FOTA for such a major update. If we just do it via SDcard method then B11 is not required.

We don't want any users — not a single one — to have a issue updating their devices so we are leaning towards SDcard for our next update. We may do both as HQ don't mind the risk as they have changed the FOTA module in B11 to try and eliminate the risk of failure that occurred for the 14 users I quote that number as it is the number I know of and I think others just swapped at JB.

Yes, lots of substance. But we can't talk about it. Actually we now have to get sign off on all comm's that mention the next version notice I am not mentioning it on purpose This is due to Google getting involved and managing the next version release and the very new VR approval process that they now require before anything is released.

Edit — this is for all manufacturers now releasing next version devices. I know everyone is champing at the bit to get the next released but wait for the local version to come out and avoid additional risk to bricking your device using the foreign releases.

Hi Dean, one of our axon 7 phones we bought fron gear best before aussie release the other 2 from jb hifi Will we be able to update using the local noughart update when it is released for all 3 phones?

If by SDcard method then On my european variant, it looks like Nougat was just released! Just updated via OTA. Some not so happy campers here: So it doesn't give the sound preview when you press the a volume key and slid across any of the sliders, how are you supposed to know how loud you're setting the ring volume or even your alarm???

Video to explain it here: Technically it's the same as the leaked Beta version from a few weeks back, so it looks like ZTE EU released a not quite finished version, just to make the 31st of March date to keep their promise.

Technically it's the same as the leaked Beta version from a few weeks back,. What makes you say that? Could you point me in the direction of the info to read myself. The XDA thread where people are installing it here: If you read a few pages, people have confirmed it has the same signature Hash check as the previous leaked build a few weeks back.

If you are running an EU model and want to upgrade anyway, the file is available here: Playstore now just spams finding network nothing downloads or updates. This shows the bargain-basement approach by ZTE The software and support is rubbish.

Easily fixed for me by uninstalling the playstore updates in settings as per M4fia. Android pay and playstore bugs are google issues that zte has no control of. Playstore fix is basic, Google it.

Android pay doesn't work but if your banking app has tap n pay like comm bank it works flawlessly. I think you should get a different phone, when your not interested in finding out what the problem is, it's time to move on.

I love my axon 7, and consider myself a power user.. Good bang for your buck. Has anybody using the official screen protector dropped the phone since they installed the it? I had a glass protector on mine.

This morning I took my dog to obedience class and one of the other dogs jumped up and knocked my phone out of my top pocket. The phone is still working, thankfully , but it has cracked two corners of the screen protector.

I haven't taken the protector off yet, but I am positive it is only the protector. So,I need another protector. Just curious how much protection the official protector will give versus a glass protector.

The official protector is just film, not glass so only offers protection from scratching the screen. Sorry, as per Dean's previous comment, Google has taken on the 'fight club' rules, can't talk about it.

With the release overseas Google will be your best bet until local release is available. I like the phone but I'm not sympathetic to companies behaving like this. I don't pay good money to investigate on their behalf whether the problem is with Google or them.

As far as I am concerned, the phone is not working properly. I mean what kind of useless fragmentation is that. It was bad enough they gimped MyVoice stuff and the stock theme etc, but now missing useful functionality that improves the camera capability based on my location is just ridiculous.

Just got my Amazon DE updated to 7. I had to manually download and update via SD to 7. I've never seen OTA work before for my phone, so this was nice to see. If you've got an import phone, try the 7. Problems so far — I've got the same Play Store "Waiting for Network" bug that everyone else has, but otherwise it's working fine.

Frankly, I don't see much benefit yet with Nougat:. As for Pay, it's also a ZTE issue. The buggy beta release somehow appears to identify itself as rooted maybe non-stock to apps, hence they refuse to work properly Defending ZTE when clearly they have done a half-arsed job with software isn't going to help.

We paid a decent amount of money for the device, we're not glorified beta testers that ZTE can charge to use as guinea pigs. Removes the 'Quick Settings' that was MiFavour added. Mixed feelings about that. I think I will wait for a while, as I intend switching to either stock US rom or 3rd party rom to gain.

As it was the only improvement I was after from the update. I intend switching to either stock US rom or 3rd party rom to gain. I wasn't aware that we can flash the stock US rom I presume you are after 7.

What do we lose, in doing this? I'm definitely jumping ship on ZTE software. I've had enough of the wait, bugs, and misinformation with no cohesive channel. I just want root, a decent recovery, and pure android experience.

Too much to ask, ZTE? I'd even considered selling the phone this weekend, and moving on to something else. I'm suspecting ZTE Aus got in contact and shut that down. Sifudean — comment on that? There is a guide here: I have been waiting to see the dust settle now that all versions have access to 7.

Apparently it is easier to do now, than it was previously if you are already on Nougat, at least people on Lineage, are easily able to flash the American based 'Bad Boys' rom without doing anything special.

Call me old-fashioned but why doesn't this thing just work? I would have thought that none of this is rocket science. What, exactly, is the enduring problem preventing an upgrade? Love the phone but expected none of the ensuing palaver that accompanies it.

I shall be sitting on my hands until I'm able to push a button and the device updates all on its own, something virtually every other phone I've owned has been able to do without dramas. Nothing to do with us or myself — We are too busy working on our device firmware testing to be trying to do things like that.

In truth I don't give a rats as I have stated many times now that we are only supporting the locally released devices with firmware that is approved for AU release. So if those channels have been shutdown I have no idea who or why.

Most of the time you can get the unlocking code from the carrier if you ask nicely. That I enjoy from time to time. Or Gray Importers that claim local stock of non-approved ZTE devices — i will send one of them to jail one day.

But realistically trying beta releases or grabbing foreign released firmware is wasting your time. We do what we do locally because it has to be done and everything we find gets investigated and added to the global issues list.

IMHO — be patient. Fixed already in my version so as I have been saying there is a reason we take our time and test locally. I will make one thing clear again — This is my account ie Personal , I reply on ZTE threads and comments when I am told about them or I see a thread is getting out of hand with the wrong info and if I can clear it up I will.

Otherwise I am on the topics that I like to read about and those aren't in this section of WP. So the responses are mine alone and accurate as I can make them or believe at the time — I will never go for a representative account as I have enough things to do in a day as it is.

I don't mind good discussions, but rants and rubbish posts just waste all our time. Take the emotion out of it and check the facts. If you are upset go for a work or some other exercise, then relax and sort out what is the issue and detail the issue so others looking at it can understand it completely without having to second guess.

I have always said learn at least one new thing every day and i still do If any of you want to know about Greenhouses, hydroponics, Aquaponics and such I know a few things these days Which ZTE office released the Firmware?

So are you using a AU purchased device or a imported AG? If it's an AU released device wait for our release. There's no need to take it personally mate. As for "keyboard warrior" comment, I paid money for the phone, if it doesn't perform to spec I have every right to voice my displeasure.

And how do ZTE programmers even manage to bork the play store functionality?! The OS updates have been disjointed and haphazard at best. Please don't scare off Dean. I appreciate the fact that Dean is so supportive Coming from Samsung and LG handsets I can say that all updates I have encountered have brought with them some minor bugs, this includes Google and the manufacturers software.

Similarly this happens on my pc OS updates and android boxes kodi. It's not unexpected, and I have updated enough various devices to realise its part of the process, if one is to have the latest and greatest firmware.

Pixel and Op3, Sony, moto etc have all experienced this, so while not ideal, it'll happen regardless of which handset you buy. The axon 7 is a mid range priced phone with mostly high end specs and i beleive it represensts great value.

The support from Dean ZTE is unexpected from a handset manufacturer and we are lucky to have that one on one communication. They just replaced the entire unit. While I was there, I asked about the Nougat update. The employee mentioned that the Australian update has to align with the emergency calling requirements in place here.

ZTE AU is currently in the final phase of the update testing. Then they have to send it to Google for two weeks of validation for Daydream. I regularly buy from Amazon and they have been reducing items that they will ship to Australia over the past few years purely my own observation.

Lots of rumors as to why and many possible reasons for it insert Google search here. Best to use a postal forwarding service if it is still cost effective, many to choose from now. Hi, can anyone tell me where I can download an Australian User Manual or will any other region manual do?

The ZTE oz website says it is being worked on. So in one sentence, the Australia update is at least two weeks out. Be patient, and update. Well I've discovered the first thing I really don't like about this phone.

Maybe someone could shed some light on whether this is an issue others have had. The speakers sound great. They're not as good as I thought they'd be, they still sound pretty tinny but awesome for a phone I guess.

The headphone jack on the other hand seems to be an epic fail. I've tested two different sets — my old ear buds, and the pair the phone came with and I have to turn the volume to max to achieve anything remotely acceptable.

And it still doesn't seem loud enough. The sounds just aren't clear or defined enough. Anyone else have a similar experience? Bit of a letdown with the much touted dual audio chips. My old HTC m7 has way better sound from the headphone jack.

Otherwise Dolby Atmos can tweak it a bit, beyond that you will need to root to manually boost the volume via the config file. Yes I have super hi-fi mode on. I have managed to get a little more out of it with Dolby Atmos also.

I did some further research and found the xda post describing the root and manually change the config. I can live with it so I won't root my phone for the first year probably. Yeah I understand this but it doesn't make much sense to me as the old HTC I referenced earlier with much louder sound through the headphone jack was purchased in Australia.

Maybe they have changed the regulations since that phone was made. Disappointing to have a phone with kick ass hardware that it can't utilize correctly. Just found out that some of my apps think they're unlicensed because of having to uninstall play store updates again and again.

I'm done with this. ZTE need to pull their heads out and sort out the hot mess they've made of the software. WIFI speed is slower than the older phones Wifi Range is shorter than the other two No glass screen protectors due to screen design is crap.

Loud speaker for calls is soft. Poor battery life not all the time, just sometimes. Same apps installed as my old phone Auto rotate does not work all the time Bluetooth turns off after a restart not always.

Finger print scanner is in a good location and always works. Nice size and feels fast Ring and message tone is loud Fast charging is great Great screen Camera is prefect for my needs Dual Sim.

I think you'll find this was an issue with Google. Mine seems to have fixed itself at around midday today. You won't find any decent glass or film screen protectors for 2. We just don't have the technology captain.

Strange about the auto rotate, anyone else having issues, could be a bug worth reporting? Battery life for me is excellent but I have set power management for each app accordingly but use the performance setting.

What does your battery usage say is the culprit? They do sound pretty good , although after more listening they do need to more volume. We should probably post these observations on the ZTE facebook page.

They will get hopefully more people seeing the comments that way. The more people that see the comments and maybe add more to it , might get them to do something about it. It seems that way doesn't it?

I need a new one for my phone. I got one today from eBay , but it doesn't even have cutouts for the speakers or anything. I should have taken more notice of the photo on the ad for the screen protector.

The edges aren't even rounded off. I won't even bother to put it on the phone. I will keep looking. European Nougat release has been suspended and is no longer available OTA due to the bugs reported Nexus, Pixel and some Samsungs are also experiencing the issue.

Seems to be 7. Don't take this the wrong way but I haven't read any articles about nougat Ota being suspended. I follow several android websites and am surprised they haven't mentioned it, as they are all over software bugs usually.

Care to share a link, I beleive you, just like to stay informed. What bugs are fixed with the next version? As mentioned above, Google Playstore will work again. Whatsapp performance issues are fixed. The transmission of the call ID can be set manually.

Optimization of the standby time 6. Revision of the German translation 7. The new update will appear very soon and will also bring new features: Android launcher 3 2. RAW format for the camera. Same apps installed as my old phone.

I get excellent standby, but it does tend to drain quickly when using it more vigorously. All batteries should be mah minimum, compared to making the phone another millimetre thinner.

Mine fails every morning when I first touch the phone, I must enter password, after that I never have an issue. Yeah, still deaf in one ear, after using the auto-answer feature You only make that mistake once.

My only complaint is the way they handled the software development, they should of just had one global team developing a single ROM that was consistent world wide, rather than having multiple teams working on multiple features that aren't included in some areas.

I forgot to mention that people have reported more volume on Nougat update. ZTE have announced a future bug fix B02 will address the major issues. Hi FreakBull — where did you see the announcement for this?

Curious to see what 'Very Soon' means! Edit — found it! That is good news, but it also needs to be louder through the speakers , although dolby atmos does tweak it a bit. Dolby atmos doesn't work at all using poweramp though.

I must be doing something wrong then. I already had" BT direct volume control " off, but it doesn't make any difference turning dolby atmos on in sounds on the phone. If I use google play music it does make a pretty big diffrrence to the volume.

Is it affecting the EQ.? Im my experience, poweramp provides much louder and cleaner output using its own processing compared to atmos. People on this thread have mentioned the metal body of the phone and the cheap antenna component as factors which may negatively affect cell reception.

Am I likely to experience call dropouts while driving around Brisbane with an Axon 7, where a more expensive phone would not drop out? Thanks to anyone who can respond from experience of cell reception with this phone relative to other current phones, whether you have found internet speed and call dropouts to be a problem or not.

Apparently the Nougat B02 update has now been released This should fix most of the big issues and includes the. Happy times for Axon 7 users What does this mean please? Either way that's great as it's nice to not have to sacrifice a feature to be able to use a custom rom.

Personally I think Axon have done a great job with the interface and lack of bloatware. I think I'll be keeping Mifavour on my phone for the first year but I'll be keeping an eye on LOS to see what they come up with over that time.

Am I likely to experience call dropouts while driving around Brisbane with an Axon 7. I can't speak for Brisbane but no problems for me on the Gold Coast. Admittedly I haven't had the phone for long.

I do have to agree with the gentleman who posted earlier. Although maybe I would! I have had a positive experience so far. One issue that had prevented 3rd party roms from being 'perfect' was nobody had managed to get sound out of the front facing speakers in stereo.

It worked via headphones, but the built in speakers had to be tricked into playing mono audio through the front facing speakers. Thus a bounty had been offered to anyone who could solve the issue. It was solved the other day, which means Axon users who choose to use a custom rom will now have proper stereo sound through the speakers.

Yeah, I usually do the same thing Happy to use stock for a while, but by all accounts Lineage is quite impressive, less bloated, faster and receives regular updates, thus it's good to know that everything is working as well as the stock rom now.

Can anyone using the Beta firmware please test accessing large SD cards? There are reports that the b02 7. I have had no issues with signal, previous phone had 4g 2 bars where I live and the axon 7 has exactly the same.

Voice calls are clear, and has been working as it should. My wifi is also displaying and testing at the same strength and speed, so for me, at least, it's all good. I have used a 64gb Samsung Evo SD Card and it played files just under 4gb with no issues, unfortunately I don't have a larger card to test.

I'm seriously done with ZTE and their nonsense when it comes to software With consideration to how cumbersome and risky it is to root and unlock the bootloader on this device to flash recovery, and custom roms can anyone who has used 7.

I normally, would not ask — rather, flash and try each myself for 30 days, etc. While I agree that the EU Nougat release was just amateurish, I mean they knowingly released a buggy beta release. Nougat has likely been the buggiest release of Android in sometime in general, Google themselves have taken months to fix simple issues like reboots, bluetooth and battery drain.

Updating to any new release, upon release will always bring with it some risk of instability. Google fixed 74bugs between 7. Thus while ZTE do need to improve, bugs are always going to exist, and the best way to avoid them is not to update on day one, but wait until lots of others have been the crash test dummy If you run a 3rd party rom like Lineage and updated nightly, you will again run into new bugs on a daily basis.

It's better to wait and see if software stability is something that frustrates your experience. Totally agree — One reason we always do so much local testing and try not to release anything until it is actually ready.

There would be more BETA users on here but when I asked originally I received only two responses and after a week I had a few more — there are 15 beta users currently and they have reported that almost all the issues fixed. One BT issue in one vehicle which I can't verify yet but plan too.

But we aren't talking about the release until we get the e call issue fixed that is a tricky one and the the Google approval which covers all comms, PR and any mention of the version and functionality included So I avoid mentioning it.

I got these from Aliexpress. They are slightly thinner than the screen about 1mm of screen gets left out on either side , but if you align it right you will be happy. I know it can be irritating as hell, but it has the right cutouts for the sensors and the height is perfect.

Hi Dean, are you saying EU devises will be able to use the australian SD card update as well when it is released? Having that extra delay means you guys can do more thorough testing, and avoid some of the pitfalls that ZTE in the EU have not..

But we aren't talking about the release until we get the e call issue fixed that is a tricky one. I still could make calls despite the 'emergency' message Restarting and Airplane mode didn't fix anything,. I then replaced both SIMs as they had always been and it's been working again ever since.

But thankfully it's all working again since, but a little worrying that it just appeared out of nowhere. Thanks Dean for your thoroughness, I appreciate getting a bug free update when it comes. I for one don't mind waiting for it.

I am very happy with my AU Axon 7 as it is. So would definitely not want a premature buggy update. But our baseline is now combined with all AG device markets, but only once our build is approved due to the E calling functionality.

P You think they would have just waited. No I don't know their schedules or processes. But we had the same version and knew it had issues from our testing and these were reported. No idea it was going to be released, but sometimes you need to get the firmware into users hands as every user is different and they find issues very fast.

The Playstore issue wasn't seen in our testing but it should be there. Due to our focus on E calling, BT, audio and calls in general we pick up alot of issues, but our testing engineers are able to do that on any device from any manufacturer.

Things that appear simple are sometimes much more complex and take time. It should also be noted that we can be receiving daily builds of temp firmware to try and resolve issues that are either hard to reproduce or that require more complex logging to capture and sometimes those diagnostic efforts hide other issues until all the logging is stripped out So different behaviour between test builds and released firmware happen.

Just have to live with it and sort it out post haste. As note, the official film protector from ZTE is very good, too. I much prefer tempered glass in feel and I have some dust under my ZTE film that isn't quite right.

Cutouts are good and also doesn't go full left to right due to curved screen which is expected and fully acceptable. I much prefer tempered glass in feel and I have some dust under my ZTE film that isn't quite. Don't forget that with a tempered glass screen protector that they do offer some protection if you happen to drop the phone, which the ZTE protector won't.

I can vouch for that. If you search the Nexus 5x thread for the word 'bug', you will find multiple people mentioning Wifi bugs, and battery drain bugs:. If you've got a Nexus 5X and are experiencing random reboots after upgrading to Nougat, we've got some bad news: It seems some people have found a fix by reflashing Android 7.

It's really not hard to look on forums like XDA on a Pixel or Nexus thread and see people with bugs of all sorts, but Bluetooth connectivity and Battery Drain issues have been rampant on Nougat devices in particular.

Very famous Bluetooth issue was recently fixed via Google Play Services update for example: Just because you may not notice an issue, doesn't mean others with the same phone won't. Well this is a conversation that won't go anywhere.

Claims of problem Bluetooth Wi-Fi battery or anything are just that, claims, they happen at various times to everyone. I'll point out that one excerpt you quote says "small number" 3. That is the definition of "an issue" I'll leave you to believe what you need to believe.

I'll believe my experience with Nougat and those majority in the N5X forums and blogs I've spent the last year visiting. Phone's working pretty well after the latest update to 7. Pixels and Nexus devices aren't targeted at average Joe's and mass market consumers People buying nexus devices buy them knowing they get speedy updates amd that can include ones with teething problems.

ZTE on the other hand have had ages sitting on Nougat There are plenty of other minor bugs already reported with the new B02 update, so personally I will be waiting for users to try B03, before jumping in head first.

Speedy updates knowingly come with teething problems Well I know little of coding but have used enough software to understand early adopters of firmware updates will encounter issues. Interesting — that certainly gives better network coverage throughout your home.

So basically the phone just interacts with the TP-Link router and then the big device dishes everything out to the end devices. Have you tested the Buzz on its own before, as a pocket wifi that spreads the love to all devices on its own?

I still have the Telstra Ultimate pocket hotspot but am considering the Buzz if it can do a better job as a standalone device. Dairyman, Coltec and Cobia are the real master minds. Here is the website info is a bit dated so forums are the better place to talk about it on whirlpool.

Indooroopilly Centro had none last night but told me that Indooroopilly Shopping Town had four, one of which I bought. It seems they are on the DSE computer and any shop should be able to tell you where they are available.

So i have used mine for 1 day. People on the other end keep saying they cant hear me properly. Must be the way i hold it. I decided to put my voice directly over the tiny mic hole and talk it made things even worse. The Speaker is on back and is not very loud especially when it comes to using speaker phone.

Also had one phone call where the telstra lady was cutting in and out but they could here me fine. She called me back and all was good. I was on 4G in the city about m from a cell tower. More testing to do.

I was told because it's a pre-paid phone I need to get the sim activated and I need to wait in line with 5 other people because I can't do it myself WTF? I just want this cheap phone without a sim as I already have a BYO sim on my flagship daily.

I just wanted a spare phone and Telstra couldn't do it: I rang my nearest store Garden City in Brisbane Southside — they had none left, but advised there were 3 at Sunnybank and 4 at Calamvale. I just swapped over.

I know the feeling. I went to telstra for 3 sims today and they said they dont sell them and that I had to go to coles or wollies to get them and then ring up and get each activated then come back to telstra for them to charge 2X prepaid devices up with data and ring for the freedom plus plan on the other.

I can report that I have tried the following 4G phones, all with great success: Yes, I'm very happy with it. I originally wanted to go down this track so that I could connect a voip box ATA device via a LAN cable to utilise my phone's data allowance.

The cordless phone Telstra brand contains bluetooth. This allows you to copy your phone's address book in just a couple of steps into its memory. When making a call via the cordless phone, I am given the choice of making it via MyNetFone or via my mobile phone the Telstra Buzz.

When I leave for work, I simply take the now fully charged Telstra Buzz with me, connecting a Huawei Y in its place for others to use while I'm out. Yes, it works absolutely fine. It just doesn't give me all the flexibility I get with the above setup.

The wifi range of the Buzz phone is every bit as good as another good phone The Buzz also manages to do all of this, plus connect to my bluetooth headset which lets me talk while doing mundane tasks such as the dishes or the washing.

I didn't mean the code the public can see. Please contact store to confirm availability". Here are my 2 best speed, Note that I am not in a 4GX area and these are about the bet possible in this case. I will try to get to a 4GX area and test.

On plugging in say a USB hard drive. I paid cash, no ID required, nice fast transaction. The DSE operative said that there are plenty of these phones around at present. His shop restocked on Fri afternoon. He also commented that Telstra is offloading this stuff now and he would be surprised if stock is still around in quantity after Christmas.

As others have said, about the only negatives are the el-cheapo screen but the digitiser is fine and the low end camera. Other than that, all good. I am quite impressed with overall speed and responsiveness, from booting up through loading apps to shut-down, all is smooth.

I auto-loaded about apps from my Cloud storage and this did not have any noticeable effect on performance after loading had completed. Battery performance also looks to be good but it's early days yet. My main objective was to get a cheap entry into Telstra 4GX wireless hot-spotting and I must say that as a hotspot it performs admirably.

The phone runs cool, much cooler than the ZTE MF91 dedicated pocket hotspot that I will probably now retire, presumably meaning that battery life will be solid. Thanks for reporting because my last Cheap coles telstra phone died with minimal addition of apps.

I did notice this battery is of a fairly large size. The latest cordless bluetooth phones that provide incoming and outgoing calls via bluetooth are cool. Most of the cheap Telstra branded handset have external antenna ports.

They are perfect for adding an external antenna to keep the phone alive in an area where an external antenna is necessary. Connect to the stationary mobile handset external antenna connected via your bluetooth cordless. Telstra stuffed up and ported my number to the wrong sim.

After 30 hours I called them and they fixed the problem. So now i have 8. I also thought I was meant to get 5GB for a new service? I know that would be greedy. The best thing is this rolls over. So apparently because i didnt set up direct debit at the beginning i need to do it 1 day or on the day of recharge before it runs out.

StraitVodka, with respect, isn't this stuff decidedly off topic and better discussed over in the Telstra Prepaid thread here? I only got around to unboxing yesterday. But further, I find the screen is fine.

I haven't tried the camera. My previous Androids are now so slow browsing using Chrome and I find the Buzz is great. My apps are working well, except perhaps for CSipSimple which is working although every time I get the message that it has stopped working.

It only stops working if I acknowledge the message by touching OK. So I had a chat on 24x7 about these phones and I'm very confused about whether the phone has a removable battery. I see a lot of you guys are alluding to one.

The Telstra chat operator said that it did have a removable battery then apologized and said no it doesn't have one and now insists that it doesn't. Telstra's page about the phone says the battery isn't removable under the detailed specifications section https: But I've just discovered use of Telstra credit on Google play and the joys of an extra GB when using CreditMe2U — both these things currently require me to use the sim card in my main phone, which is a hassle.

I'm very confused about whether the phone has a removable battery. It has a removable battery. As above the battery is user replaceable or removable. In fact it comes separate to the phone itself in the box.

I just got one for myself as a spare for the kids, http: Correct, as per the thread title ;. And in "About phone" Sure you're not thinking of the much older Tempo? On a side note, when using this phone just as a pocket wifi device for the household, will it always stay on and connected when it comes to dishing out wifi assuming it's plugged in , or will I have to mess with it when I get up in the morning for instance?

They are not on display. You have to ask the sales guys. Two more left about half an hour ago. Mentioned mates rates at the cashier. If I go into a Telstra store, will they give me the same deal? Unlike at Dick Smith they're displayed with printed price tickets as if it's a new regular price.

I bought a phone anyway: Not a bad idea. I only purchased it 1week ago from Telstra store. They could have let me know a deal was coming Docket are usually 7 days right? Couldnt help myself and purchased another: Its all your fault, and Jacks and astero's, and a couple of others: To good to pass up.

I will keep the headphones and pass the phone on to one of my extended family in the Philippines. It can take a couple of days for the data to appear. If not get in touch with Telstra. The store probably would not be aware of the headphone offer.

Try returning it, nothing to lose except some time and possibly angst: I'm tempted to get a second one myself so the wife's got a set of headphones too.. I'm an iphone guy, I'm at the point of being sick of ios issues and generally bored with apple, so I am going to use this to enter the world of Android Android has it issues as well.

Still after trying apple, ms, and android, I am hooked on android. I'm at the point of being sick of ios issues and generally bored with apple. I would not call this an awsome android phone but hey its cheap as and has mhz.

Android does not have all the annoying constraints etc that apple has. Apple, google etc are all pain in the butts. What's the approx delivery date for the Buzz? Is it really the 2 day delivery for metro locations? Every time I have ordered sims or phones from Telstra I get it within 1 to 2 business days.

I ordered the Buzz last night. They will dispatch today. It will turn up tomorrow or Friday. Here is a problem i have run into with this phone Put telstra sim in I also have the Huawei y and both sims tether fine no problems Can anybody else check this please: The headphones are all black and look to be the same model as these: I ordered mine yesterday at Arrived in Fitzroy It does sound very much like it.

Perhaps this article will be of assistance: No APN settings made no change were correct already You could surf on the phone no problem and had 4G While we do support tethering for iPhones we do not provide personal hotspots for iPads.

Depending on your mobile device, check out our Help and Support articles on how to set up tethering on your handset. So it would appear that there is a special APN that your get routed through when trying to tether. True, but it's still a good valued phone irrespective.

Its an incredible deal with the headphones. Has anyone got the white Buzz? If so, how do the two colours compare? Already ordered a black and thinking about a second one for the wife Looking from the front you see very little white maybe 2mm around sides.

I like the white. I just bought one yesterday, but only today — almost 24h later — I received a confirmation email. Getting a bit worried that 2-day delivery time-frame is not going to happen I jumped on chat to as the status of my order and they said its currently out of stock and once my order is fulfilled, I would receive the tracking details.

I jumped on chat to as the status of my order and they said its currently out of stock. That's a bit strange, you must of just missed out, mine shipped yesterday and StarTrack website is showing it in Perth today.

How many days passed since you placed your order and the package actually being delivered? I ordered Tuesday night, shipped yesterday and is showing "onboard for delivery today" this morning. I'm in Perth so would expect us to be worse case.

Hope you can help. Ive just purchased the buzz and want to know if it can block numbers?? And also can it take screen shots?? Hoping someone can help. Here's the user manual if you are keen http: I've read through it and found screen shots, still can't get it to work.

I must be useless but still can't find info about blocking numbers. Do I actually need to be at home to show the delivery driver the same ID used to make the purchase? Normally all packages at my condo are signed by the admin guy and then everyone just picks them up in their own time.

So just wondering if this one time I actually have to be present no matter what Does anyone know if you can switch the hard-keys around on the Buzz? I really would like it the other way around Crap, it's actually in my wife's name — do I just need her DL when she heads out or does she need to physically be here too?

By the looks of it you are out of luck. I was looking to do the same thing. Also can't fine tune the screen like the fit. The Buzz and fit look identical from the outside. The Buzz has a slightly nicer backing. I think I prefer the fit out of the two after brief impressions.

I've had a quick scan through the comments to see if this question has already been answered, but couldn't find anything Once unlocked to all networks , would this be a good phone to use on Optus? Or would the missing network bands make reception patchy and unreliable?

I just bought this phone because I needed one and headphones. This was perfect, except I just got it delivered and there aren't any headphones. I really like the white colour as it's a slight pearlish metallic colour.

Of course we are only talking about the back of the phone here. Headphones came included not just the small ones in the phone's box but also the Monster DNA headphones that Telstra is currently attaching to orders as a bonus , and after activating the included SIM card I have 5GB data on it already valid for 28 days.

Overall — great experience with Telstra and a great phone too — an absolute bargain at this price. And an absolute steal considering you get the Monster DNA headphones with it for free. My widget just says "tap here to manage your prepaid service".

It should show it if you're on mobile data — when it's on wifi it can't get the usage information as well. My widget just says "tap here to manage your prepaid service" Remove that widget. Install the Telstra 24x7 app and then put the 24x7 widget on.

This will show you all the info, not just data. Can someone please clarify what being locked to Telstra means? Does it mean being locked to being a Telstra customer, or being locked to using the Telstra network, but able to go through another company that uses the Telstra network — eg.

Can we unlock other network bands on this device, under the options you listed Wahroonga Farm? It does not seem to give that option which is a pain. Tethered to Rooter is fine but not stand alone.

On closer inspection of the box there was a sticker over a sticker, so I offered the unlocker the IMEI number in the battery compartment and that unlocked it. I've now received a second a second Buzz, this one from Telstra — an impulse buy, heck the headphones are worth 60 notes by themself.

So if you come to unlock be aware that the stickers IMEI number may not be the same as the one on the phone, which isn't a problem unless you persistently bang in an incorrect unlock code 10 times. I gave the unlocker the IMEI number showing on the box and the resultant unlock code failed.

Where's the hardware specs? Is this a Qualcom Snapdragon? According to ZTE's website it is Qualcomm. If the former then might be able to unlock additional 3G and 4G bands. And appears to add Mhz 3G, as I just popped a Voda sim in and don't think that Voda does or here.

Perhaps someone else can confirm this. I wonder what additional 4G bands could be unlocked? Voda actually uses all 3, , and Got mine and insta-ordered an unlock code, screw the telstra sim included. Indeed but not all districts have all three available Australia-wide.

What we need is confirmation as the phone or modem doesn't indicate frequency info for connection. I've tested with a Voda SIM. The handset is network locked to Telstra. If you put in a non-Telstra SIM card you won't receive any service.

So if you come to unlock be aware that the stickers IMEI number may not be the same as the one on the phone,. Telstra took 2 days to dispatch, a lot unusual in my experience. On board for delivery today still within Telstras time frame and the moron driver from Star Track tries to deliver it to the wrong address.

Geez its a business address with a business name, how hard is it? Anyway now fighting with Star Track to find and deliver my phone, what a useless company!! Mine made it just on time. Ordered Wednesday morning, got the 2nd email yesterday evening and luckily got delivered today.

Star Track being themselves carded it to my local LPO Lucky I didn't stay waiting and checked the tracking status at pm The LPO is within walking distance. I fly out of Australia for several weeks on Sunday things would have been messy otherwise chasing refunds Yes it's funny this phone is pretty much identical on outside to the fit, but the mtk SoC the fit gets performs better.

Mainly the GPU is a lot better. If you test benchmarks side by side you can watch run through the tests fast. Seems the GPU is not quite twice the speed going by 3dmarks scores. On a side note, as someone has already mentioned, the Telstra SIM is actually quite useful to activate it as you'll get 5GB straight off the bat and I think you have a full 28 to use it too.

I'm ok getting the 24x7 app via Google Play as that is one thing I actually know how to use, but how do I dump the current widget and then put the new 24x7 widget in its place? If your mobile doesn't automatically place a new app on the main screen -do a similar thing, hold the app down with your finger and it "should" drop it on the main screen.

Where do you get the unlock code? Open your app drawer. Go to widgets tab. Find widget you want. Tap and hold on it. Place it where you want. Or on the handset itself: Looks like the replacement for this is the Y5 also blue tick which has more bands spec wise and is running 5.

Picked it up over this ZTE model. I don't see anything about the Y5 being Blue-tick, and no mention of 4GX support either on the Telstra website: According to your link it does list support for mhz band in specifications, which is 4GX.

I would find it odd that a newly released phone didn't offer support for it at this stage. Yeah the s is definitely a downgrade over the s used in the Buzz. You probably not going to notice much difference performance wise between the two in real life use except for the s does seem to be lot more friendlier on battery life.

Do you have the handset now and if so, do the specs match the Huawei website? Yeah that's the thing I found with these lower end phones, you can't trust the listed specs. Box is blue tick and there is the MHz so it is 4GX. Nope — read the very first post in this thread, and look up the specifications for yourself:.

I found this interesting, I benchmarked battery life between the fit and the buzz, here's the results: I posted on another website forum that I thought this phone was better than the Y, but having used this phone for a while, I've changed my mind and I'd say the Y is better.

But this phone is very good. Y back is so slippery, Buzz is way better soft-touch rubberised. According to this site, http: Set preferred network type: And the Buzz is much better in low signal areas.

For a solid phone with Monster headphones included, not to mention a SIM card that gives 5GB straight off the bat after registration? Super for a second phone. Anyone knows if the credit can be used for existing Telstra prepaid service and not activating the new sim?

To get the headphones, can these be purchased from a T shop, or do they have to be purchased online? If buying online it appears that one has to go through the activation process as part of the procedure. Must order online to get the headphones and discount.

I was thinking about taking the sim kit into a T shop to get that credit added to my existing prepaid service. You need to activate the new SIM. I think you'll find that this is merely their ID procedure, so they know who's responsible for the sim they're sending out.

Once received you or anyone can activate the sim in a different name provided that relevent ID is provided. I'm finding this, but the differences are minor like the viewing angles better with the Y and as DerekG says in favour of the Buzz it goes brighter.

A matter of personal choice this. The camera on the buzz has it all over the Y, but find the Y battery lasts longer, but it's early days, I've only completed one charge cycle on the buzz thus far, so the li-ion may still be settling.

With Mhz LTE on the Buzz but Mhz 3G on the Y, the difference between the handsets has to be in the eyes of the beholder and what they need it for. Both are excellent budget smartphones. I bought the buzz mainly for the Monster headphones, but figured I can use this as a second phone.

What do people normally use a second phone for other than work purposes? Activate the sim that came with the Buzz on freedom plus and you'll get a 5gb data bonus valid for 28 days. You now have a decent 4gx pocket wifi for all your wifi devices.

Install Here and download offline maps and you get a 4. I use mine mainly as a workout phone since you don't want your flagship phone to get all sweaty and possibly dropped a few times. I might not even bother with a flagship phone in the future since these cheap ones are plenty fast with decent battery life for my use.

Hi there, I've juts picked up one of these as a secondary phone and am surprised at the quality and functionality for the price. I am unable to find the option to do this on this phone.

I had a Y when they were cheap and the biggest flaw I found with it was only around 1. You could set it to install apps directly to sd card easy enough. It shouldn't be any faster though than the Buzz, because the Buzz uses the exact same system on chip.

The screen I believe is ips on the Y, so should have better viewing angles and might be a bit better to look at despite having the same dpi. The only other budget phone with an ips screen that I could use to compare against is the Sony E4g, but I doubt the Y is in the same league as that phone's screen.

I've had the Fit longer, and has been through a few more battery cycles, so perhaps that helps a bit. You still wouldn't think that it would achieve around 2 hours better. The rest of the phone seems almost identical, same screen, same mah battery, same crappy quality camera etc.

Just ordered one of these purely for use as a cheap GPS but I was wondering if everyone is still receiving these with headphones have the headphones sold out? Just checked OzBargain and 2 people received theirs with headphone on Friday so it seems like the headphones haven't sold out yet.

Both are actually excellent scores when compared to other results: My only qualm with that benchmark is that it uses the CPU primarily and isn't really indicative of real world performance. The GSMarena endurance rating is good but they seldom test these cheap handsets.

I don't think it's possible with the stock launcher and I have the same issue with my Nexus 7. You'll probably need to install a more customisable launcher like Nova:. You'll probably need to install a more customisable launcher like Nova: Ordered a Black and White phone on Saturday.

Received the black one today with a set of headphones. No sign yet of the white one on its way. I assume that I will get the headphones as my invoice says: I was supposed to receive mine today. According to Star track tracking it was on board for delivery today.

Then it went back to depo. After numerous calls, I finally got out of them that Telstra had sent an Email requesting that it be 'return to sender'! I've tried all afternoon to find out what is going on but I am getting the usual run-around.

Almost a wall of silence. Lucky you, my receipt doesn't have that on it, even though they were "Included" right through checkout. However the two Buzz phoens in our house can see each other via Bluetooth.

So while I suspect it's a Bluetooth protocol issue does the Buzz use a special protocol that isn't widely available or something? I don't think any battery benchmarks are. I think it just a way to compare against other phones.

I haven't found their tests to be indicative of real world battery life either. I like the GSMarena one because they test talk time, web browsing and video playback separately to come up with the aggregate score. I value the web browsing and video playback results since that's what I use my handsets for most over any other tests out there but that's just me and we all have different requirements.

Yeah their tests must be a best case scenario, I have no idea how some of the phones achieve the numbers they get. So I don't think their numbers are good indicator of real world use either. Thinking of returning , getting this, looks like it has message alert LED can anyone confirm thanks.

Lumia's don't offer that, they want you to use glance instead. Have you tried glance? Though the buzz is a much better phone than the Lumia Yep used glance, i like the clock at night handy, both have 1 gig ram which is good, and 5mpx camera.

Battery seems better in the Buzz though. Just got my Buzz with the free headphones. Enjoy mate — glad you got the headphones. Going to use mine as an Audiobook player with a micro-SD as well. Only issue with this is the volume on all droid phones is a bit low.

If you use it more like dumb phone, the is better with power-saving mode. For smartphone use then the buzz should get 2 days of moderate use easy enough and better than Lumia. I'd take the buzz everyday over the Faster processor, better apps, and flash on camera.

I found this out the hard way after trying to use it with multiple android phones: Several days ago I tried to order online, at the end of the process after I pressed "submit" or whatever, got a brief on-screen message saying there was a payment failure, order status is unknown and to check my bank statement.

All too hard, I won't be bothering further — top ordering system That was the only way to get Optus 4G mHZ at my house. My Zenfone 2 was getting 2 bars Optus amaysim 4G signal when they were side to side, Buzz was on E dge all the time.

Has anybody ordered multiple units and got headphones for each phone ordered? What sort of adapter would I need to get? Or never heard of an adapter for headphones buttons. I would love to know if there's an adapter that allows the use of both the mic and the buttons on iPhone-centric headsets on Android You can't lose, beat valued smartphone.

Don't forget the free 5gb sim activation. Is that with the included sim? No extra recharge is required in the case of SIM cards included with prepaid devices. If you do some searching in the Lycamobile prepaid thread you may find a technique which allows tethering to occur in spite of Lyca not permitting it.

It was more like hitting the upgrade button and seeing if your phone still worked.

If it didn't work, FDR back to B19 was the only way out. There were no tools for backups and ZTE would not roll back destructive changes. Release notes were incomplete so you never knew what would break or why things were broken.

Beta moderators would periodically ask for a release readiness vote even while there were widespread reports of major problems. Now wondering if it is related to using the phone after using a Bluetooth headset with it.

Which OTG adapters have people had success with, mainly usb 3 otg hub style ones but i will settle with single adater although the ability to connect multiple things at once and charge at the same time would be good.

Boxall I assume you've done a factory reset? I had a similar issue early on in the beta testing and it was fixed by a factory reset. Yep, I agree factory reset is painful, but a phone that doesn't make calls Anyway it fixed the issue for me.

Beta testing in OZ- this was a great experience and certainly not run like that mentioned from the XDA post. I thought all issues were mostly minor and I was impressed that most, if not all were addressed for beta testers before being rolled out.

Support flowed freely and communication was excellent. Having other beta testers try to replicate problems and bounce ideas of each other was awesome. Happy to do it again, anytime. Will the b04 update be accessible by just clicking the update button under settings, or do i have go through the SD card?

Then again I haven't received a single OTA update since I got the phone in the paypal preorder stage came with B08 so who knows. Enquiries I made with them as to whether the imported version they were selling was the AG Australian version remain unclear: They might be selling a AG version as it's global But I guarantee it's not the Australian version as everything they sell is grey market.

B08 is the last OTA version until you upgrade to N. It would be hard to find the kind of aftersales service my son received from ZTE Australia today. Well above the standard we have become accustomed to now days and very much appreciated, all I can say is well done!

Absolutely echo your comments. I was completely bogging myself about the Nougat update and the potential risks involved if I got it wrong. No tech head me! Frantic correspondence with Dean from ZTE ensued. Patience of a saint, this guy.

Mailed me the SD card required in order to effect the update and then walked me through the process after I stumbled at the first hurdle. Or, more accurately, I tripped before the initial obstacle was even in sight.

But his efforts were not in vain: I'm now running the latest version of Android and could not be happier. Such service is almost unheard of these days and is a priceless addition to the rather prosaic act of merely buying a phone.

Factory reset via setting should suffice obviously after you are satisfied with your backups. This did the trick for me, I don't believe there's anything else to it, there are other options wipe dalvik cache etc.

Anyone had issues with mobile data? In particular with optus. Not sure if it's bad optus or I need to change the band the phone uses or something else. I want to know of any issues seen in the local AU Nougat release.
